Can Susten Progestrone Be Used During IVF Embryo Transfer?
Question: I underwent embryo transfer on Aug 11 - 2 5 day blastocysts were transferred and I have a positive preganancy test. My beta hcg on Aug 25 was 650 and on Aug 27 was 1271.
Although I am happy about the positive result, I am extremely worried about the fact that I have been given too many medications. These are ones I am currently on:
Duphaston 10 mg 2-2-2
Progynova 2 mg 2-2-2
Gestofit 300 SR 1-1-1
Naturogest Vaginal 1-0-1
Fertigyn 5000 iui twice a week.
I was also on Susten progestrone in oil injection until after the embryo transfer.
I see that there are too many pregoestrone medicines and I am really worried about its effect on my baby. I have heard that if it is a male fetus, there could be some issues with the sexual behaviour in adulthood and if it is a female fetus, then it could have male structure and other androgen related issues. I am really worried and need an honest opinion. I already have extreme itching and palpitations which I guess are progesterone's side effects as well.
Please help me! I am completely lost. I wanted a baby, but donot want to have its health affected.

Brief Answer:
embryo transfer
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
The protocol that you are being placed for IVF embryo transfer is completely agreeable and should be continued as scheduled. Don't stop any medication at all till 12 weeks till pregnancy stabilises.
You are confusing progesterone with testosterone. progesterone is not an androgen and has no androgenic side effect. So rest assured. In fact progesterone is pregnancy supportive and is required for pregnancy to continue.
mild itching is acceptable and can be managed symptomatically.
Regards
