Brief Answer:
Cant be Synthroid

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for your query.

No, synthroid is not know to cause arthritic problems even on long duration course.

The cause of your arthritis could be different.

Based on which joints involved, I could postulate the most possible cause.

Please let me know which joints are involved.
What time of the day, joint pains are more ?
Is there early morning stiffness?
Are you on other medications ?
Is there swelling around the affected joints?

Why do you not recommend that I try going off the synthroid because the pharmacy attached info mentioned muscle aches as a side effect of this drug.

The hip joint pain usually starts around noon and also includes the knees.

I am not on any other meds however a friend recommended supplement "Agilease" which has frankincense, calcium fructoborate and turmeric. Have heard of anyone using this successfully

Thank you

Brief Answer:
Not Syntheroid

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for writing back.

No, synthroid do not cause arthritic problems. Muscle pains may be a side effect by very rare and very trivial but this do not affect the joints. Rarely synthroid can cause transient joint swelling which regress on its own without treatment.

Do not stop syntrhoid unless your thyroid hormone levels are in normal range.

In you arthritic problems could be due to age related degeneration of the joint cartilages. Yes, for such problems AgilEase is very effective as it provide right ingredients needed for cartilage repair. Slow but effective.

Hope, I answered your query.

Hi again, why do you think that the Walgreen prescription information says "if you are 65 or older, use this drug with care, you could have more side effects". What side effects?

Brief Answer:
Increase risk of heart disease

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

In people more than 60 years old, there is increased risk of heart diseases.

Synthroid increases myocardial oxygen demand by increasing heart rate and contractility. Increasing the chances of heart attacks.

Also, know to reduce bone mineral density.
