Can TENS Provide Back Pain Relief?
Question: can tens devices be used to treat pain caused by spinal lipomas? numerous medications have been tried. surgery is not advised. has always had bowel problems severe perianal pain began about two years ago.

lipomas are quite variable due to location both in what level df the spine and the depth into it. some are very superficial. Obviously the ones that are more outside and easy to get to are more able to be surgically dealt with.
often just keeping them from being stuck is all the surgery needed.
tens units work on spine pain. more likely the more nerve like that it is.
pain the is frequent, shocking or hot, running Ina belt out from a nerve is more likely to be helped. if it is very positional pain from mechanical tugging on the lipoma and a dull pain it is less likely to be helped by tens.
if the pain is near the head tens are not recommended to be used due to risk of seizures otherwise they are quite safe
