After test, I was diagnosed with PAD in left leg. Had intermittent claudication for about 1 year. I was sent to a vascular surgeon. I was informed that I only have 60% of blood flow in my left leg. I was first given Pletal. but had a reaction. I was given Pentoxifylline ER 400 mg TID take with food. I started this med on XXXXXXX 6th. Two days of taking med I started with sever pain in both arms (intermittent) from wrist and up both arms. My shoulders, clavicale and shoulder blades. My husband needs to help me lift my arms to put on a tee shirt. This is all new. Is it possible that this new med is causing all of this pain. If not who do you recommend to see for this problem.
Brief Answer:
muscle and bone pain are unreported side effects
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Pentoxifylline does not cause bone pain or muscles pain. These are not reported yet neither the literature quotes this.
I think the new pains should part of the PAD that you have. However it is better to call the doctor to check this. If this is interacting with other medications you might be taking and causing reaction.
