Posted on Mon, 15 May 2023
Question: Hi I had a miscarriage in April 2017 I was 13 weeks pregnant but scan showed no baby growth since 5.5 weeks.
My period and ovulation is as follows:
September 2017 25 day cycle ovulated day 14
October 2017 29 day cycle
November 2017 29 day cycle ovulated day 16
December 2017 28 day cycle
January 2018 36 day cycle ovulated day 24

Do you see I can conceive naturally again.
I have been put on Triamcinolone injections and worried it will stop ovulation. I am on injections to control severe asthma. The months I haven't put ovulation on is because.I hadn't tracked it.
Gynaecologist said everything is fine and no need.to.worry.
I worry as I am 42

Brief Answer:
Ovulation can be inhibited.

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

Triamcinolone can lead to inhibition of ovulation, as it is a steroid and disturbs the pituitary hormone levels, which lead to ovulation.

I will suggest you to track your ovulation is next cycle so that appropriate dose and medicine adjustments can be made to maintain the ovulation in the menstrual cycle.

so I might not ovulate?

Looking at my periods above do you think I can conceive naturally. Triamcinolone has never interacted with me before and I have always ovulated

Brief Answer:
Ovulation is possible.

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

If you have ovulated earlier on triamcinolone, then you are likely to ovulate on the same dose of the drug.

Natural conception can always be a possibility of ovulation is proper.
