Can Tropicamide Be Used After Cataract Surgery?

Question: Tropics mode ophthalmic 1% Sln contain benzalkonium chloride that may cause discoloration of contact lenses. If we use tropicamide in patients who had cataract surgery and IOL implant, will IOL be affected by benzalkonium chloride?

Benzylcolline is a preservative and does not get absorbed in the eye that is why it can be used.

That being said, I am not sure why tropicamide is to be used in your condition. If you are aware of its indication please let me know.
