Question: yes, my boyfriend 55 has type II diabetes under control was diagnosed with DME today and had his first injection overall health is ok. Can he take Viagra with this kind of problem.

Thanks for your query,based on the facts that you have posted it appears that your 55 years old boy friend has type 2 Diabetes and has developed Diabetic Macular Edema .

As regards use of taking Viagra for getting Erection ,I would state that Sildenafil has got selective action on Erectile Tissue and hence unlikely to affect retinal blood vessels

.However you can take second opinion of your Ophthalmologist.
