Question: I have been on wellbutrin for little over a year now-My physicain ordered some lab and my AST-is 102-and the other liver enzyme is 66- does wellbutrin affect the liver enzymes

You are concerned that taking wellbutrin is the cause of liver enzymes on your recent lab tests. It is possible that wellbutrin is associated with liver toxicity. I would recommend that you may wean from wellbutrin under your doctors care and then repeat your labs. It is possible that several other conditions could cause elevated liver functions including obesity, hypercholesterolemia, alcohol use, acetaminophen. Your scheduled liver ultrasound will look for structural things like gallstones that may cause liver abnormalities.
