Can Xanax Be Taken After Consuming Alcohol?

Question: If I had a beer with a big dinner about an hour and a half ago can I take a xanax safely, im perscribed as needed for my anxiety I'm 23, 6'1" and about 200 lbs.

Also they are 1mg tablets

Hello and welcome,

While there may still be some additive sedating effects from the beer, if it was just 1 beef and over an hour ago, and if you take the Xanax for sedation or sleep, it should be ok. The one thing I would caution is not to drive until the morning, once you've taken the Xanax tonight. (I am assuming you take the Xanax in the evening or at bed time.)

So if you are at home now and just plan to go to bed, it should be ok.
