Can A CMIA Test After 6-8 Weeks Of Exposure Be Conclusive?

weeks, 6 weeks, 8 weeks, 10 weeks and 85th day mark post exposure. All came negative.
1. Is this conclusive? Should i test more?
2. I had taken rantac last night, can that give a false result?
3. Is 3 months mark considered at 84 days or 90 days? Will this result change at 90 days?
4. Is HIV COMBO CMIA test conclusive at 85 days?
result is definite, conclusive, you are not HIV positive
Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic
yes, this is conclusive, you do not have HIV.
The window period of a test is the time from possible exposure to the time when a test can accurately determine if the infection is present.
This is the reason that tests are done beyond the window period, to make that the result is final and accurate.
The window period for the combo test is approximately 28 days though it can sometimes be extended slightly.
Since you have passed this time, up to 85 days, then you have definitely crossed the window period and the test would have been conclusively been able to determine if HIV was present
It is truly negative. The rantac would not have any effect at all. The test , since you are way past the window period, would not be changed at 90 days
I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions

result is conclusive
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Yes, as mentioned, you have passed the window period for this particular test. Different tests have different window periods.
It depends on what they are looking for. If the chemicals they are looking for come up early/quickly in a person with HIV then the window period is short-- this means if a particular test is looking for chemical A and chemical A shows up by 4 weeks, this test can tell if a person has HIV by 4 weeks
If a test is looking for chemical B which can take up to 3 months to show up then you have to wait 3 months.
The test that you did looks for chemicals that show up early, no need to go to 3 months, it picks up chemicals that show up by 4 to 6 weeks. That time has passed, 85 days is way past that.
The result is conclusive
The hiv combo does not need to go up to 3 months, it picks up chemicals a lot earlier than that.
It can be done earlier, it is accurate earlier, would detect HIV earlier. It is also accurate at 3 months , 85 days, 90 days as well

no problem
