Can A Black Widow Bite Cause Itching As Per The Attached Photo?
Question: About a week ago I had my appendix removed. When i was sitting outside my ankle became itchy and i noticed a black widow less than a foot away. Was i bit?
Brief Answer:
Possibly yes.
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query, albeit short and specific.
Noted the history, seen the photo.
Since there is a bite with red elevated skin and there is itching and you have seen black widow nearby, this may be taken as spider bite.
Since it is not possible to judge the outcome as every case can present in a different way, it is better to consult your Doctor.
In the meantime, clean the area with soap water, apply ice to the area and an antibiotic cream locally.
I hope this answers your query and help you.
