Can A Bowel Resection Procedure Cause Dizziness?
Question: On feb 26 I was scheduled for a laparoscopic hernia repair. Due to the intestine being impacted in my testicles after 4 hours they decided to open me up. They were not able to do the hernia repair. They did do the bowel resection. I’ve been dizzy and unstable on my feet since then. Do I need to worry.
Brief Answer:
See a primary care physician.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
This new symptoms that you experience may not be due to the pre-existing problem of obstructed hernia or bowel resection.
These may relate to the surgery you underwent mainly post-op anesthesia effects. I guess you were given spinal anesthesia for the surgery.
These effects may wane off with time. Bowel removal would cause some nutritional deficiency, electrolyte imbalances and disturbance to microbial flora in the gut. These should be addressed.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

No not really. I did not have spinal anesthesia. I did not exhibit any of these symptoms before the surgery. I actually have seen my primary twice and my surgeon twice.
Brief Answer:
Opinion
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
What was their opinion, both primary and surgeon?
I understand you did not have these before the surgery, that is why I say it could possibly be post operation affects or completely neurological and unrelated to surgery.
If there is a scope of good neurological examination then we can ascertain the cause.

Brief Answer:
ENT surgeon.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Ok, meclizine can help reduce the dizziness.
I am not sure how they referred to the dizziness problem to laparoscopic surgery. Did you meet an ENT surgeon who can ascertain the exact cause of this?
Both Primary care and surgeon are not right caregivers for your problem.
