Question: I fell and bruised my back, lower right (2 ribs) and getting worse. Could this cause abdominal bloating? 52 yrs old, hydrocephalus (no shunt now, 45 head, 20 lumbar) had to be taken out...5'7", 125 #, but now 130# since injury. Thank you!

Brief Answer:

Abdominal trauma to be evaluated further.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

Since the abdominal bloating started after a trauma, an evaluation by an abdominal Surgeon and ultrasound of the abdomen is necessary to exclude any damage of the abdominal organs.

Hydrocephalus should not cause abdominal bloating since there is no abdominal shunt.

Get the above-mentioned examinations done.

Hope I have answered your query.

Take care
