Can A Bump In My Armpit Be A Serious Concern?
Question: I have a bump in my arm pit and want to know if can be serious?

Lumps in the arm can be due to different possible causes- (1) enlarged lymph node
A lymph node can be enlarged if there is an infection in the area that the node is responding to or if the node itself is infected.
In persons with a history of cancer, this can also cause enlargement.
(2)infected hair follicle or gland
(3)lipoma is a collection of fat that forms a lump, can occur at different points of the body
(4)trauma to the area
If there is no obvious skin infection or cut in the area then it is not likely an enlarged node due to infection.
Infection of a hair follicle or gland is possible, this can take a few days to reach the pinnacle, it enlarges for a few days and eventually can discharge.
Unfortunately lumps and bumps, rashes etc are diagnosed visually. They need to be seen. The possibilities can be listed but only on seeing and palpating the lesion can a diagnosis be made accurately
