Can A Complete Blood Test Detect Hernia?
Considerations
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for sending the question.
I did review the complete blood count result which you uploaded. This does appear to be a completely normal blood count with no significant concerns.
Regarding hernia, A complete blood count is not something that would provide evidence of presence of a hernia. The complete blood count exam is not diagnostic of a hernia.
In order to diagnose a hernia a good physical examination in addition to possible imaging studies including CT scan or possibly MRI is necessary.
If you are concerned about a possible hernia I would recommend that you discuss this with your primary care physician. You might consider a focused consultation with possible imaging if needed.
Thank you again for sending your question. Again a complete blood count is not used to diagnose a hernia.
Sincerely,
Dr. Galamaga
