Can A Diabetic Patient Take Eglucon Tablet?
Thank you for posting a query.
Look, euglucon contains glibenclamide group of drug. It stimulates release of insulin from pancreas and also enhances the actions of insulin.
It is a very good anti-hyperglycemic agent.
So, a diabetic patient may consume euglucon.
But, this drug is not the first choice. First line of treatment is by metformin and glimepride. Apart from that diet and regular exercise are also advised.
If the above mentioned drugs and life style changes are not effective to control diabetes, combination drugs and lastly, insulin should be considered.
So, there are many alternative drugs for diabetes. But, their use depends on your clinical profile. That means, your average blood glucose level, presence of any complication.
So, in case of any problem, you have to consult with your treating doctor for any change in the treatment.
Hope this information suffices. Let me know, if you have any more question.
Regards.
