Can A Hernia Cause Diarrhoea?

Possible infection
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Without a physical examination, it is difficult to rule out a hernia. However symptomatically hernia is not the common cause of loose stools. It is more likely an infection.
1)Do a clinical examination by your Doctor[gastroenterologist] and to confirm do few investigations like [CBC with differential and stool exam RE/ME/Culture] and it will be clear from physical examination whether he has a hernia or not.
2)Drink more fluids [ORS], juice and broth to prevent dehydration. Try to avoid foods that can aggravate diarrhoea.
3)Discuss with your treating Doctor about prescription antibiotic if bacterial infection suspected in stool exam[Norfloxacin +metronidazole].
Do follow lifestyle modifications for all family members -:
1) Wash your hands before and after preparing food.
2) After putting soap on your hands, rub your hands together for at least 20 seconds. Use hand sanitizer when washing isn't possible.
Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer when you can't get to a sink.
Hope I have answered your query.
Take care
