Can A Laminoforaminotomy Be Done After Lamina Is Removed?
Question: Have you ever hear of a neurosurgeon ordering a left sided XXXXXXX L4/L5 laminoforaminotomy when the left side of the lamina was removed 6 years ago during a L4/:5 TFIF procedure. Actually a bilateral L5/S1, L4/L5 and L3/L4 laminoforaminotomy was ordered. I just think the doctor will be confused when all he sees is a dura on the left side of L4/L5 and no place for his tubes to rest ending up with more problems such as a torn dura.
Brief Answer:
Laminoforaminotomy cant be done on same left side.
Detailed Answer:
Hello
I have read your query,
If previous TLIF AT L4/5 WAS DONE THEN XXXXXXX Laminoforaminotomy cant be done on same left side.
As lamina at that level is already removed.
If nerve compression is seen at that level then only nerve root decompression can be done by foraminotomy as per latest MRI report.
Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.
