Can A Person With 2/herniated Disk Work For 6-7 Months At A 100% Capacity?

Question: Hello. Can a person with 2/herniated disk work for 6-7 months at a 100% capacity never missing a day of work and putting in 3-4 hours overtime in another department prior to the time for his/her shift to start. Which is another additional 8-13 hours?
Brief Answer:
Daily work and activities can be continued with mild compression.
Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
Herniated discs are usually associated with pain in the lower back. If the disc herniation is of a very mild degree with no nerve root compression then the pain is usually mild and bed rest is not needed. You can do the daily activities and work with the help of mild pain killers and proper daily rest at night.
It is difficult to correlate the extent of pain and disability a person is feeling as will power can affect the daily activities to a great extent.
Hope this answers your query.
Any further follow up queries are always welcome.

Brief Answer:
Yes it is possible to work normally at 100% capacity.
Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again .
According to the attached report, there is only mild disc protrusion and disc dessication. These changes in the disc may not be associated with any pain or disability.
So in my opinion a person with the attached report can work with 100% capacity along with the overtime if the work does not involve heavy load lifting or active movements like sports. These mild changes in the disc can be painless and without any disability.
Hope this answer is helpful .
