Question: i have taken pexep cr 12.5 at 11.30 A.M
can i hv alcohol in the evening at 8 pm

I understand your concern.

Yes you can have it alcohol along with pexep.

But frankly speaking pexep(paroxetine) is SSRI and it is used to treat depression and anxiety(panic).

Alcohol can beneficial in initial period but in long term it can worse anxiety and depression.
Since when are you using pexep?

So it would better to avoid of possible for better results.

Try to do limit use of alcohol and take medicines regularly for better and early results.

i hv been taking pexep for the last 4 days it was prescribed by my gastrologist for acid reflux just to avoid any anxiety if at all. just want to be sure that in case i hv to take adrink in the eve after having the med inthe mor.
i dont get any panic attacks as such
whats the safe margin of hours after taking the med to consume alcohol
hope u wont mind my lenthy querry

If it is given for acid reflux then 6.25MG is appropriate dose..

You can take alcohol with minimal 8 hours of interval. Means if you take medicine in morning then you can take alcohol in evening.

But as i said take minimum alcohol as much as possible.

If your acid reflux better you can stop it gradually.

You can gradually decrease it from 12.5 mg to 6.25 for a week then stop it. Discuss about this your doctor.
