Can Alcohol Urine Test Detect Alcohol Intake After 72 Hours Of Its Consumption?
Question: I drank 6 martinis on Saturday night, my last drink was before 7pm. I will be taking an etg alcohol test with a cutoff of 500nl on Tuesday night around 9pm. I am a female, 155lbs and I had gastric bypass 2yrs ago. will the alcohol still be detectable after 72 hours? this if for a voluntary program.
Brief Answer:
unlikely detected
Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic
ETG urine testing detects the break down products of alcohol use.
The ability to detect alcohol would depend on the degree of use. In persons who have a history of persistent alcohol use, it is able to detect alcohol after a longer period of time.
If there is no history of alcohol abuse, only rare intermittent use then it can usually detect alcohol up to 48 hours though some labs state that they can detect it up to 72 hours.
At the time of your test, the 72 hour part would have passed. This means that it is unlikely that they will detect it in your urine.
I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
