Can An Ultrasound Scan Detect Lipoma?

Question: My family doctor said I have lipoma's in various parts in my body that I have noticed including thighs and stomach area and I have noticed one in my right upper arm. Moving around in bed I can notice a little tightness in my stomach especially after a stressful day. I have also noticed a pinching pain upon poking a couple areas in the stomach that my doctor also identified as a lipoma. Is it best to have an ultrasound to locate the areas around the stomach that my have a lipoma and be on the safe side?
Brief Answer:
Ultrasound, FNAC, excision biopsy.
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query and an elucidate history.
The rule of thumb in case of lipomas is to get all the painful lipomas, to get histopathology to get a confirmed diagnosis.
This will help to rule out the causes of pain you are getting and get rid of the lumps that are not the normal parts of the body.
