default
Posted on Thu, 29 Dec 2016
Question: I was diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea. I'm also going through anxiety and depression. Could this condition also trigger hyperventilation. I have lost 50 lbs. no longer a diabetic, talking lorazapam, trying to wean off since it could be addictive, but hyperventilation is a problem when I feel anxiety coming or if i am in a stressful situation.

Brief Answer:
Hyperventilation is typical of anxiety!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Hyperventilation is typical feature when you have anxiety or just moments to it. I'd suggest that you continue taking the lorazepam again, this drug that going off when you clearly have these symptoms of ongoing anxiety. I will suggest that you should get it controlled first rather than going on to wean it off.

I hope this helps. I wish you well.
Feel free to ask for further clarifications if need be.
Regards
