Brief Answer:
Wean off atenolol slowly

Dear XXXXXXX,
Greetings from health care magic!!! I am Dr Thakker and shall be answering your question.
Atenolol is a beta blocker which is used to slow the heart rate and control blood pressure. it is known to cause Peyronie's disease which is a curved penis due to fibrosis. this has been reported with beta blockers. if this curvature is a major problem, you can be step by step weaned off the beta blocker and started on another class of drug like ACE inhibitors or calcium channel blockers. they do not cause this side effect.
I hope this helps you out. If you have any more questions, please do not hesitate to write back to me.

If I stop taking it - how long should it take for my erections to return to normal?
Brief Answer:
please read response
Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXX,
I would recommend you to wean off atenolol step by step rather than abruptly stop it. it will take a week or so to get the erections normal. However, this number may vary from person to person and is not quite predictable.
I hope this helps you out. If you have any more questions, please do not hesitate to write back to me.
