Brief Answer:
Calcified lymph nodes don't cause inflammation in the upper airways.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

A calcified lymph node is usually caused by an infection.
Infection causes the swelling of lymph nodes.
During the swelling process the lymph nodes sometimes don't go back at the same size that they were before.
During the healing calcium can be deposited which cause the calcification of the lymph node.

To respond to your question,no,calcified lymph nodes don't cause inflammation in the upper airways.
This does not exclude the possibility of a recent infection.
I suggest you to do a complete blood count to confirm the diagnosis.

Hope my answer was helpful.
If you have any other question Ill be glad to help.
