Detailed Answer:
Hi,
This is a curious case as it started suddenly and progressed so fast in a weeks time.
It is peculiar to hold only few foods that too juices which are completely processed and easy to consume and digest as well.
A history of migraine should be linked to this present problem. There is something called abdominal migraine in a case of stomach pain. But he does not have stomach pain.
His problems can be temporarily controlled without a proper diagnosis. In such a case you should visit a primary care doctor who can prescribe anti emetics like Domperidone or Ondensetron. He can prescribe proton pump inhibitors as well like Pantoprazole.
As long as he maintains the blood pressure, pulse and well hydrated with no temperature he can wait to meet the gastroenterologist. If Gastrologist appointment is delayed you can first meet a primary care doc to control his unusual symptoms.
If he is not maintaining hydration with dropping bp/pulse he better visit a ER for emergency call to Gastrologist.
Please take earliest appointment with Gastro
Detailed Answer:
That is good and take care of symptoms sooner.
You can visit PCP tomorrow but it should not stop you from taking the earliest appointment with gastroenterologist. he may need quite a few blood work up and Imaging studies to understand the nature of the problem fully. Be prepared for it.
