Can Cervical And Lumbar Scolosis Cause Limb Jerking And Tremors?
![default](/r/images/default.png)
It is mostly a central nervous system problem.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have read your question. Tremors and jerking is never caused by spinal problem. It is mostly a brain problem. Some time it can be due to metabolic causes as well. Following are common causes of tremors.
1. Parkinson
2. cerebellar causes
3. High thyroid hormone
4. Anxiety
I would recommend you to meet a neurologist and get your self examined. He may asked you to get some blood test for hormone level and also MRI brain. I can assure you once again that cervical and lumbar spine problem can not be causing it.
I hope this answer will be useful for you.Let me know if there is any other follow up questions.
Thanks

Anxiety can be a cause
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I think anxiety can be a cause in your case. Neurologist will be able to help you. Also in patients of low thyroid some time medicines like Altroxim can cause tremors.
You can share Neurologist opinion with me. I would try to help you.
Thanks

I take Levothryoid (sp?) .100 mg. daily. I have high blood pressure, therefore, I'm also on med's for that. I have arthritis, so I take muscle relaxers for that. Have had high colestrol - so take 1/2 a pill for that. Take the xanax mostly to calm me down enough to sleep at night and one in the morning .5 mg. each. I have COPD, on O2 24/7 now. Don't take my inhalers unless I cannot stop coughing. Have a nebulizer, but haven't used that for months, as well as a chest shaker, which I've stopped using for a few months now. Have Zenkers Divuclious, and as mentioned scolosis of the cervical and lumbar areas. Also have Vetrous Detachment, I'm just a total RECK, LOL. I will let you know what the Doc says this morning during my appt. I just wish someone could tell me what the heck I have to put my mind at rest. Thank you for your conern, much appreciated. XXXXXXX
I would also recommend you meditation
Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX
I noticed that you are taking too many medicines. I am waiting what neurologist says about your case. I think you should try meditation and yoga for your anxiety. It is very helpful. DO not take too much xanax .it is also causes sedation, so taking in the morning is not right.
Let me know what neurologist says about your tremors.
thanks

Well my EEG didn't indicate much: A background rhythm of 7.5 Hz frequency was noted with XXXXXXX amplitude posteriorly, which was symmetric and reactive to eye opening. Photic stimulation and hyperventilation did not provide any background changes. The patient did not achieve sleep. There is no clear focal slowing or epileptiform activity seen. IMPRESSION: Abormal awake and drowsy EEG due to mild diffuse slowing.
As for my blood tests: Everything was okay with exception to:
Creatinine Serium 1.23 (high), eGFR 45 (Low)
Sjogren's Anti-SS-A >8.0 (high)
Hemoglobin A1c 5.8 (high)
TSH 20.84 (high)
Doctor did say that I have Neuropathy on the bottom of my feet. She did mention that the thyroid condition could be a factor in my tremors / jerking. She prescribed Clonazepam 1 mg - to take the place of the xanax and benadryl I take at night. She said it was ok to take my morning xanax. She did mention that the Simvastin I'm on could be contributing to the tremor / jerking problem, but I told her I'm not even taking a whole pill - due to the fact that it interferes with my high blood pressure med's....I only take a 1/2 a pill. I could not pass a DUI walking test - she tried that one on me - and I almost fell - and she grabbed me and told me not to try anymore. I have experience a numbness in my big toe and a funny feeling in my baby toe - which comes and goes. She contributed that to the Neuropathy. All in all the prescription should stop the tremors / jerking. I have a F/U visit scheduled for 11/24 to see her again. Hopefully between the thyroid med's being adjusted and this new prescription all this worry will go away. Again, I thank you for your assistance. XXXXXXX N.
You will be fine soon
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
After your anxiety, low thyroid level and neuropathy is being treated, you will be fine. It is good that there is nothing wrong in the brain. Neuropathy will take some time to go. I would also recommend you to take Methylcobal to improve your nerves.Discuss about this your doctor.
Thanks
