Can Cervical Radiculopathy Cause Enlarged Lymph Nodes In Neck?
Could be but needs assessment for surety
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking!
Cervical radiculopathy is a disc herniation of spine leading to nerve roots compressions and resultant pain and paresthesias and burning sensations in neck muscles both painful to touch and movements. That is why an MRI is advised which will sort out the root and cervical spine involvement level.
Now the swollen lymph node might be just a response to the inflammation nearby and yes it can be caused by radiculopathy in that case but rarely reported.
There are many reasons for enlarged lymph nodes. Infection and inflammations are on top.Malignancy, metabolic issues and many other case scenarios be the source of this node. But mostly it is a response to some nearby inflammation in the neck region and lymphadenopathy occurs.
Any how it would need a complete clinical correlation in that regard with some detailed work up and history based examination to sort out what it is.
Lets wait for the radiological assessment of the neck and then connect the dots later on. Let your physicians examine this node too.
I hope it helps.Dont forget to close the discussion please.
Take care
