Can DTMS Be Used In Place Of RTMS For Depression?

default
Posted on Tue, 4 Jul 2017
Question: I very recently completed a whole round of rTMS. But I've heard quite a bit about dTMS. How exactly does it compare to rTMS? I already know the exact differences but am wondering if dTMS is considered better or more effective in treating severe MDD?
Any other details regarding these two therapies would be appreciated! Thank you in advance!!

Brief Answer:
dTMS can be used provided rTMS did not serve purpose

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX
Thanks for using Health care magic.

I tead your query and understand your concerns.

Regarding efficacy there is no doubt that dTMS is better option but it is indicated for resistant depression only. In case rTMS did not help you appropriately you can opt for dTMS without any problem.

I also like to inform you that every treatment have their merits and demerits and if you compare everything dTMS and rTMS have almost equal profile.

It is not about the severity of depression. The two treatments differ in their hierchy.

I hope this answers you.
Feel free to write back to me if you have more questions.
Thanks and regards.
