Deer antler spray is controversial because it contains insulin-like growth factor-1, hence it is banned by World antidoping agency (WADA) as a performance-enhancing drug.
Anabolic steroids have a high anabolic and a low androgenic activity.
They are mainly approved to improve appetite and feeling of well being during convalescence from prolonged illness & recovery from surgery, burns, trauma or chronic debilitating diseases.
In males anabolic steroids can cause gynecomastia, testicular atrophy & infertility due to low sperm count. Hence they should not be used for sexual enhancement.
