Can Dettol Antiseptic Cause Cancer?

Question: Hi, I have two kids one is 3 years old and one is 5
Months old, I have been using dettol antiseptic in many ways for cleaning floors, cloths, and for bath of kids some times( very rare) . Now am worried does the dettol use causes cancer in kids

Based on the facts that you have posted you have been using Dettol routinely to clean your housr floors ,cloths and sometimes while bathing .

Dettol is proved and time tested anti septic and germicidal water isoluble chemical and it has not been documented by any study or research to cause cancer in kids .

Do not worry and do not be aprhensive about it causing cancer in kids .

And does dettol have benzene?? The chemical which cause blood cancer in kids ( this is my main worry)

The Dettol contains Benzene however it is not soluble in water and gets washed away with water and mopped out with towel hence it does not remain on body surface .I can understand your anxiety but Benzene has to be in body contact for a longer duration to fear about it;s effect to cause blood cancer.

Thank you for your answer but the question is I use dettol for washing kids clothes also so does it mean that dettol remains on the clothes after drying also

Thanks for writing again .The quantity that is being used in washing is very minimal and it gets washed away like using while bathing ..

If you are curious about it use detergent rather than Dettol.

I use detergent and dettol from two years and usually soak them in detergent and rinse finally with dettol sometimes excess also does this gonna cause some health issues to kids
