Can Diet Influence Height In Young Adults?
Question: I just made 20 about 5 months ago. My height is 5'6 and was wondering if I still had growing. My dad is 6'1 and my mother is 5'3. Most of the males on my dad and mom side are 5'9 and over.
I'm not sure if my lack of eating ( I would eat only one big meal a day) caused me to be this short.
I don't really want to take an x Ray for such a petty issue as height but would I have to to be sure done growing?
I also moved out of my mom's house, do I still have a chance now that I can afford to eat as many meals (healthy) as I want and exercise and go wherever?

Hi

The answer is simple.
The growth depends on the bones.
If they have become fused, the growth would not happen.
If it is still not fused, growth may happen.
Without x rays there is no way to identify this.
However, high protein diet and exercise would help if the bones are not fused.
As for genetic height, if your mothers height is not much, you may not achieve the full height as your dad.
I hope that this helps.
Best of luck
