Detailed Answer:
Hi dear
If cough is for less than a week than can take symptomatic treatment as you already taking or dimetapp or ( combination acetaminophen/ chlorpheniramine/dextromethorphan/ phenylephrine ) otherwise needs sputum test ,cbc or accordingly chest x ray . Also note colour of sputum so antibiotics if needed can be prescribed accordingly. Take steam and use turmeric in food few days .
