Can Drinking Carbonated Drinks Help In The Process Of Digestion When Consumed After Food?

Question: I was told drinking carbonated beverages of any type ( bubbles) can lower the stomach acid level and interferes with the body’s ability to digest food.
Brief Answer:
They will not help digestion
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Drinking carbonated beverages of any type may worsen heartburn and doesn't lower stomach acidity. They stretch the stomach because of bubbles and may cause stomach acidity to go up to esophagus. It will make heartburn worse and will not help digestion.
Hope I have answered the question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
