Can Ecoli Cause An UTI?

Question: I have a constant UTI . Many different antibiotics but it comes back. Today, I was told it is ecoli.do I need to be worried? I have had several surgeries .Three back and one cancer (chondocarcoma) on my right pelvic. Also a hip replacement.. my poor bladder leaks and I have to wear Depends all the time.HELP

Thanks for query .

Based on the facts that you have posted and after going through our previous thread on this issue you have Chronic UTI due to e-Coli organisms .The primary basic cause to get repeated episodes of UTI is urethral stenosis that I have explained my previous answer .

UTI due to E-Coli is the most common infection of the Genito Urinary organs .The only ay to treat is to do urine culture and take appropriate antibiotic as per culture report .

As regards leakage of bladder this can be prevented by doing clean self intermittent catheterization (3-4 ) times in a day to keep the bladder empty.This will help to prevent leakage of urine and there by other problems like smelling of urine and excoriation of skin around genitals .
