Brief Answer:
yes, this can occur

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

Yes, food poisoning can have a very rapid onset in some cases. I know of persons that vomiting after taking only a few bites of a dish.

Any illness, if sudden or severe enough can potentially cause a syncopal/fainting episode. It can be caused by the condition itself, pain or discomfort associated with the condition or the emotional response to the condition.

Treatment of vomiting would involve - (1) holding off solid food till there is 4 hour window with no symptoms.

When restarting solids, dry plain foods should be used.

(2)taking fluid and electrolyte replacement but only very small amounts at a time. Large amounts would cause vomiting

(3)if diarrhea occurs then probiotics may be helpful

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
