Brief Answer:
Hi,

Detailed Answer:
Though, you had mild discomfort on the right side of your abdomen. Definitely, this can be due to presence of polyps in the gall bladder. Usually, in the beginning in case of polyps of gall bladder, there is not much pain & most of the times, it is just incidental finding on ultrasound. However, the presence of pain may be felt, if there are increase in the size or number of polyps. Also, some times the causative factor of gall bladder polyps like inflammation, excessive cholesterol deposits in gall bladder or abnormal growth of cells in the polyp leading to cancerous growth may give further symptoms of pain, fever, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite etc.
Also, though polyps of gall bladder are usually benign & only 5% of total polyps are generally cancerous. Even if, these are benign growth, periodic review is needed for increase in size or transformation of polyp to malignant stage.
Though, generally polyps of size of 18mm. As, here, in your case the size is more than 18 mm ( Of course less than 50mm or 5 Cm ), therefore a definite diagnosis & treatment is required in this case, even in the absence of symptoms of pain etc. In such cases, removal of gall bladder is the recommended treatment. However, specific treatment is to be done by your treating surgeon with refrence to your clinical condition.
Patients, with prostatic enlargement may not be having any symptom in the beginning, particularly, if the enlargement is not significant. However, this also needs a further evaluation repeatedly for any change in size & texture of prostate & you may also need a periodic follow up of your PSA profile to rule out the probability of malignancy of prostate.
Thanks.
