Can Heart Nerve Damage Cause Pain In AV Node And Left Arm?

default
Posted on Mon, 13 Jul 2015
Question: I'm a 48yr Old Male . Who has had 4 Heart Ablations since 2007. The most recent one was in Oct 2013. I have Cardiomyopathy and suffer from A-Fibulation(Reason for the Ablations) of late I'm suffering from stinging pain in the AV Node areas and Left Arm.
I had a P.E.T. done in XXXXXXX 2015.my EF is 40-50% and the Test showed no damage or structure issues.
I will contact my ElectroCardiologist in the Morning.
Could this be the aftermath of Heart Nerve results?

Brief Answer:
Your symptoms don't seem to be related to any of heart structures

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for asking on HCM!

I understand your concern and I would like to explain that your symptoms do not seem to be related to a heart nerve damage. That would be a different clinical scenario and other symptoms would be present.

Heart ablations can sometimes cause pain in this region (caused by the inflammation), but this occurs shortly after the procedure and can last up to some weeks.
In your case it has been a too long time since the last ablation and there no possibility to be any relationship between the pain and the procedure.

The fact that P.E.T. has showed a normal structural heart is another indicator that your symptoms are not related to any heart structures.

So there is nothing to worry about!

Your symptoms may be related to the surrounding tissues like a musculoskeletal pain or a radiculopathy .
Is the pain modulated by the body movements? Does it change during breathing?

Hope to have been helpful!
