Can Herpes Be Contracted Through Sexual Intercourse?
Question: I am 77 years old. I had a relationship with a women who had herpies more than 10 years ago. the head of my penis has been somewhat red and lately there are small sores on it. it does not hurt. Do you think I have herpies and how can I find out for sure. I am starting a relationship with a terrific woman, no sex yet. I cannot have sex with her if I do have it.

I am disappointed to know that you are not able to provide crucial information due to internet issues thus limiting credibility of my answer.
With available information the possibility of herpes can not be ruled out. This is because the herpes virus remains in the system and may spread to other partner despite passage of 10 years. In addition multiple small sores at the penis head indicative of viral infection as most bacterial infection lesions are solitary.
For confirmation although it is important to get photographs but if there is clear fluid (sometime bloody) in the lesions it is almost confirmatory of herpes infection.
