Can Herpes Infection Reoccur After 12 Years?
Question: Hi there,
About 12 years ago, I was diagnosed with herpes. I had one outbreak and then it disappeared and never returned. It was so long ago, I forgot about it as I figured I didnt need to worry about it as I never had it again.
I am now in a more serious relationship, and I just started thinking back to that one time and decided to go get a test done cuz i thought that maybe i was diagnosed improperly as I never had it again. I got the results and yes I was exposed to it that one time....
Is this something I have to worry about if I wanna have kids one day? the man that gave me this virus is now married and has two kids....
Any in sight on this??

Brief Answer:
No worries since no outbreaks so far
Detailed Answer:
Dear patient,
As your doc already said, since you haven't had any outbreaks, you do not have to worry about it too much. Lots of people have "sleeping" herpes in their body. In theory an outbreak may happen some day, but then this can also get treated. No reason to worry about your relationship or having kids.
Best regards
