Hi,
Thanks for query.
No hyperkalemisa does not cause diarrhea but may cause fatal heart palpitations.
For muscle cramp at age of 85 initially get your serum electrolytes monitored.
After that you can take oral rehydration solution to maintain electrolyte balance.
