Can Hormonal Imbalance Cause Prolonged Bleeding?

Question: Hi Dr XXXXXXX I'm ok now but worried that my bleeding would end up for four days or will it continue for longer days. I had already asked you a suggestion regarding my health issue that I had longer days of bleeding n gynic suggested to take regestron 5 mg for 20 days after stopping il get bleeding she said so worried if bleeding starts will it stop or not as I noticed no white discharge in these 20 days wen I was in the course of taking medicine
Brief Answer:
It can stop early or may continue longer.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,
Thanks for trusting me again about your health care.
First of all you should not take so much stress about bleeding because stress may cause hormonal imbalance and can cause extended bleeding.
Sometimes hormonal imbalance can persist for longer period of time, so it may cause irregular cycle or bleeding for 2-3 months.
So in your case also bleeding stops in 3-4 days or may continue prolonged but you should not worried about it and consult your Gynecologist and take progesterone for 2-3 cycles.
If problem persists than we require some investigation to rule out the cause.
Hope it is useful, feel free to ask more questions.
Good luck.
Regards
