Dear Mr XXXXXXX
There is definitely no objection for you to go to gym. Its advisabel to lead a active life and exercise is very important. So go ahead and hit the gym.
Coming to your concern of swollen right testis( I assume the Hernia was on right side only). There could be any causes of swollen testis in the post operative period following Hernia repair, which may or may not be related to Surgery. It could be due to following
1. Ischemic Orchitis: Inflammed testis could cause enlargement of testis. Such Testis is painful to touch( normally testis have a peculiar sickening feeling when handled or pressed but its painful). Presence of pain while touching could suggest Orchitis.
2. Hydrocele: Collection of fluid around Testis
3. Varicocele: Dilatation of veins of Testis
Ecxact Diagnosis will depend on clinical examination. BAsed on the findings, Ultrasound/colour doppler will be required.
I would suggest you to wear the right size underwear( neither too tight , nor loose) which will be beneficial in reducing swelling to some extent.
Do get back to me if you need any further assistance, will be glad to assist you.
Take Care
