Question: Ive done something dumb and had unprocted sex last night. Im on the pill but am currently on the week of sugar pills and heard I am most fertile now right before my period should start around sometime tomorrow. I am also taking metronidazole for a bv infection. I believe the guy came inside of me. Ive been on the pill a long time but all these current factors make me worried that I might get pregnant. Im 34 and have not had children yet and didnt want my 1st to be this way. I was wondering if I could somehow double up on my tri sprintec instead of buying Plan B for $50. PLEASE help. Should I start my new pack right now? Could I continue on with it instead of throwing it away?

Hi, thanks for using HCM.
I went through the query and understood your concern.
Be relaxed. You can't be pregnant. You are in safe period. The danger period is from 10th to 18th day of cycle which starts from the day of menstruation. So now you are in safe period and more over you are on pills. So the chance of pregnancy is almost nil. So no need to take any extra drugs and also no need to change any drug schedule. Continue as usual.
The pill can protect from pregnancy but not any STD. So take care dhring sex by using barrier method.
I hope this information helps you. Feel free to ask if any further queries and I will be glad to answer them.
Wish you good health.
