Can I Give Almonds To A 8 Month Old Baby?
Question: can I give almond to 8.5 months old baby? is it safe?
I soaked 6 almonds yesterday night and today morning I peeled the outer brown color layer and grinded white part with little water and gave to my baby. he liked the taste and had 4teaspoon of it.
One of my friends told i should pressure cook the almond before giving it to the baby. is it right?

Brief Answer:
If no allergies in family you can give
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for writing to us.
Generally it is better to avoid any type of nuts like almond cashew etc for atleast a year. This is especially important if your family has a history of any allergies or Wheezing.
Current scientific evidence states that
If no history of allergies you can give almonds. ( personally I would say it is better if you wait till he completes a year because some allergies can happen suddenly without a family history too).
No need to pressure cook.
You can grind them and give.
But avoid giving it as such without grinding it as nuts can get stuck in respiratory passage if not ground properly.
Wishing your child good health.
