Can I Stop Having Duphaston Inspite Of Having Nausea And Vomiting?
Question: Can i stop taking Duphaston 3x a day? I have had trichomoniasis and completed treatment with metronidazole for 7 days around my 1st trimester. Along with this i take Duphaston 3 x a day. I have no bleeding and bad cramps etc. And have no history of miscarriage. feel normal except for still having some nausea and vomiting. I want to know if duphaston is really needed to be taken.

Hello, I understand your health concerns.
Duphaston should ideally be continued till 16 weeks.
But as it is bothering you a lot and you never had an abortion in past you can stop it and take bed rest instead and avoid exertion or sexual activity.
In case you feel the same and there are no perineal pressure like symptoms then it is safe to discontinue the drug altogether.
But in case you feel abdominal discomfort, perineal pressure or discharge per vaginum then start with micronised progesterone per vaginum 300 mg sustained release at night daily.
Nausea and vomiting are common in pregnancy but if you are feeling it difficult to tolerate then take tablet doxinate 10 mg at night.
