Can I Take MCBM 69 Even Though Not Planning For Pregnancy?

Question: i was taking mcbm69 from past 5 months to conceive easily but due to some reason we are not able to do intercourse, so i left taking the tablet but i have gained weight, i juss wanna know the reason for gaining weight and how to reduce that?

Brief Answer: Diet with required calories and exercise Detailed Answer: Hi, I went through your query and understood your concerns. MCBM 69 is given to improve the production of blood and also to prevent any neural tube defect in baby. It contains multivitamins like mecobalamin 500 mcg, pyridoxine hydrochloride 10 mg, folic acid 5 mg.This will help you to improve your hemoglobin level. Taking this tablet in non pregnant will also help in well being. The reason for gaining weight may be due to improve in RBC if due to drug or due to any other cause like normal weight gain without any problem or due to hypothyroidism (more common systemic cause) or any other cause. Since you don't have any other symptoms I think its normal weight gain. For my patients for reduction in weight I usually advice diet and exercise. Diet: You need to decrease calories. Eat small portions. Do not skips breakfast, lunch, dinner. Eat more fiber diet. You need to exercise minimum 30 min daily for 5 days in a week. Hope this answers your query. Brief Answer: Diet and exercise Detailed Answer: Hi, To lose weight, you need to use the stores of fat already present in the body and to reduce the energy sourse from outside. The most effective way to do this is to: • reduce the amount of calories intake • increase your levels of activity. Diet: Have more of Fruits and vegetables. Have high fiber sources of energy while eliminating empty calories like alcohol and carbonated beverages. Also, the other high calorie foods like sweets, white rice, sugars, ice cream, refined foods etc. should be cut down in terms of their intake. Dairy is important, but is would be wise to opt for low fat dairy products and avoid adding any sugar to these items. Avoid fats and fried foods. Choose from refined vegetables oils like olive, corn etc. while eliminating the saturated fats like coconut oil, pure ghee and butter etc. Exercise: Minimum 30 minutes per day for 6 days a week. There are many ways to increase the amount of activity you do. You can choose based on your personality. Team sports, racket sports, aerobics classes, running, walking, swimming and cycling will all improve your fitness levels. Find something you enjoy that is easy for you to do in terms of location and cost. Every extra step you take helps.
