Brief Answer:
you may

Detailed Answer:
you may for some relief on the way to the hospital, however this is not likely to be enough. you should seek medical attention as soon as possible, as scorpion stings are potentially life threatening depending on where was the bite (dangerous close to the neck and face), and how much venom was inserted in your body.
As a treatment you may need antibiotics, muscle relaxants to relieve the intense spasms you may get from the venom. It is recommended to immobilize the affected area of the body, and apply ice in order to decrease absorption of the venom. Some patients with severe bites may end up on a breathing machine, and have arrhythmias in the heart. Hopefully yours is a mild bite, but I would definitely seek medical care.
there is also an antidote for the venom available. This would only be available at a hospital.

I did not find your response until now, and it looks like it posted the following morning after I asked it, in the end I took half the dose of the painkiller and got some sleep. I disagree with your answer. Living in Arizona scorpion stings are quite common and very painful but never life threatening unless you have an allergic reaction. I know this from many sources including the poison control center who we called. For my husband when he was stung. I was just in pain, which is to be expected. I couldn't drive because the sting was on my foot and my car is a stick shift. I can't afford the cost of an emergency room trip for just a scorpion sting. Your information was not helpful at all, even if I considered it valid or useful since getting it the next morning still would have done me no good. This was a waste of money and I think I should get a refund if possible.

Brief Answer:
ok

Detailed Answer:
that is fine with me. i responded within 2 hours of you asking the question, there were over 100 doctors online that had not responded to your question by that time. good luck with the foot. And by the way i said that scorpion stings are potentially life threatening, not always. if you want to take the risk every time you get a sting it's up to you.
