Stop Metronidazole.

Hi
Thanks for your query.
If you are planning a baby , stop metronidazole at once as the effects on a fetus are not known to be safe. If you stop it , there will be no harms.
Thanks,

Okay thank you, so what do i do about the BV?
Brief Answer:
Consult a Gynecologist to decide the choice
Detailed Answer:
Another option is wait till you get the next periods.
If the period is not missed, complete the course of Metronidazole as advised by you Gynecologist.
If you miss a period and pregnancy test is positive, You have to consult your Gynecologist as there are reports that BV can lead to an increased risk of developing some complications of pregnancy. Early labour, miscarriage, having a low birth-weight baby or developing an infection of the uterus (womb) after childbirth on one hand and the complications that can be caused by Metronidazole in early pregnancy.
To consider the prose and cons, your direct interaction with your Gynecologist will assist you better in decision making.
