Can Lancets Be Reused?
![default](/r/images/default.png)
Question: Hi Doctor. I did a hiv antibody test with Clearview ie Rapid Complete HIV 1/2 antibody test with finger prick. The nurse open the kit and kept ready before I entered ,she opened safety lancet and prick me for testing. After coming back home I was thinking whether the lancet was reused , do you think the sterile safety lancet available in USA can be re used more one once on people?is there a chance of HIV transmission. I looked up the internet the type lancet ClearView manufacturer uses,it sounds to me that it cannot be used more than once. Please provide some inputs
Brief Answer:
It cannot be reused and therefore the nurse used a new one on you
